open heart

This will be one of many blog posts in regards to my trip to Chicago of life as an artform.

I want to start with it was defiantly life changing, and I hope I don’t lose all that I put into my heart over this past week.

Wednesday Jesh did a small “concert” and sang some amazing songs that really touched my heart.  One of the songs he sang was not an original but I had never heard it the way he played it.

I wish he would record this one so you could hear all of the emotion he put into Rihanna’s Umbrella when he sang it.

On day one my thoughts were my friends and family who I have lost touch with.  Some who I didn’t offer my umbrella to.  I can’t say I really learned anything because I had all of this in me already I just had to find it.  What I realized is I need to give everyone the same Miranda.

So to all of you…..

You had my heart and we’ll never be worlds apart

Maybe in magazines but you’ll still be my star

Baby cause in the dark you can’t see shiny cars

And that’s when you need me there

With you I’ll always share

Because when the sun shines we’ll shine together

Told you I’ll be here forever

Said I’ll always be your friend

Took an oath, I’ma stick it out to the end

Now that it’s raining more than ever

Know that we’ll still have each other

You can stand under my umbrella

You can stand under my umbrella

……

These fancy things will never come inbetween

You’re part of my entity here for infinity

When the war has took its part

When the world has dealt its cards

If the hand is hard together we’ll mend your heart

Because when the sun shines we’ll shine together

Told you I’ll be here forever

Said I’ll always be your friend

Took an oath, I’ma stick it out to the end

Now that it’s raining more than ever

Know that we’ll still have each other

You can stand under my umbrella

You can stand under my umbrella

…..

You can run into my arms

It’s okay don’t be alarmed come in to me

There’s no distance in between our love

So go on and let the rain pour

I’ll be all you need and more

Because when the sun shines we’ll shine together

Told you I’ll be here forever

Said I’ll always be your friend

Took an oath, I’ma stick it out to the end

Now that it’s raining more than ever

Know that we’ll still have each other

You can stand under my umbrella

You can stand under my umbrella

Those words are amazing.  I never looked at that song this way, only sang along to the ella ella ella parts. Come on you know we all have done that.  I hope after today you might see it a different way as well.

My heart is open and filling in with love for all.

I owe Jesh for giving me the chance to partake in this AMAZING adventure. A journey I had been longing to take.  My first blog post prior to going was all about me doubting my work.  In reality I knew what I loved and wanted in life all along.  It took me three days to find and figure it all out.

If anyone photographer or not might be interested in taking life as an artform please contact me and let me know I am very interested in hosting one next year.  It isn’t just photography related it is LIFE related.

My self portrait. ohey.

Much love,
Miranda

Megan - How inspirational! I love the words to that song…I’m getting married this October, and I am terrified that it’s going to rain (we’re having the ceremony outside). But now I have a whole new outlook! I may type up these lyrics on pretty paper, print them, and frame them…and when my wedding day comes, if it rains, I will pull out the frame, take it with me, set it up next to my umbrella…and walk down that aisle with a BIG smile on my face because I know that in the end, the rain doesn’t even matter:) I will be with the love of my life REGARDLESS.
Thanks for sharing.
